Atelier Iconic in Amsterdam makes unique prints of iconic landmarks. RISO printing is a technique that uses master sheets to transfer the ink from the drum roll onto the passing paper. The master sheet contains the design that has been scanned in or entered digitally. The artwork is transferred onto the master sheet by a series of heated spots on a thermal plate. This burns away the design leaving voids in the sheet. This master sheet is then wrapped around the ink drum so that the coloured soy based ink can be pushed trough the voids onto the paper that passes through the machine. Printing with a Risograph is like screen printing or mimeograph, only RISO is digital. Yet it is possible to achieve similar aesthetics with a beautiful color intensity and a very nice raw result.
Each print is numbered, the first edition is 30 pieces. A certificate of authenticity is in the package.
The print is 29.6 x 42 cm. The print is delivered without mount or frame.
