The plate is designed and produced for the Rembrandt Tower Boardroom Amsterdam for a special edition in honor of the dinner Heavenly Rembrandt 2015. It is a limited edition of 1250 pieces of which only 300 can be bought in the museum The Rembrandt House. Each plate is numbered. Produced in the porcelain factory in Limoges, France. The plate has a diameter of 32 cm. Wrapped in a decorated cardboard gift box.
The plate can be seen as decoration for your home but you can eat from it! It is dish washer proof.
Plate decorated with an etching by Rembrandt B197 Woman sitting half dressed beside a stove, 1658. Etching, dry point and burin, state III (7), 22.8 x 18.7 cm. Around 1658 Rembrandt started to organize sessions of drawing from the female nude. His approach was realistic, as seen here in the casual pose. A detail of this etching is used as decoration on the plate.
